One of the great things about discovering a K-Pop group and becoming a fan is joining their fandom. Fandom names are unique and have their own significant meaning, making it special to both idols and fans alike.
On July 9th, 2019, we released part 1 of this article which can be read here. Of course, due to the number of groups out there, there were many we could not include. So here are more K-Pop fandom names and their meanings.
Chosen by the fans themselves, the fandom name is a combination of ATEEZ and DESTINY. It comes with the meaning that ATEEZ and their fans were destined to meet.
The fandom name is a reference to his birthday, May 29th, and the verb of the possibility of something happening. MAY embodies Park JiHoon’s endless possibilities and his fans who are ready to cheer him on no matter what path he takes.
While being a play on the word “iconic,” it also means that the fans are a part of iKON.
Just as TXT stands for Tomorrow x Together, MOA stands for Moments of Alwaysness. In Korean, “moa” has the meaning “to gather”. So, when TXT and their fans are together, they’ll be able to gather all the pieces of their dreams to complete one big dream.
Chosen after receiving over 1,000 entries from fans, SWITH is a combination of STAYC and “WITH”, representing the people who will always stay by STAYC’s side. In Korean, it can also sound like the word “sweet”, so an added meaning is STAYC’s sweet and lovely fans.
MooMoo was formed by taking the “MOO” from MAMAMOO and repeating it twice. It also means ‘radish’ in Korean, hence why their light sticks are shaped as such.
Chosen by the members themselves, AROHA is a combination of ASTRO, Heart, and All fans. The name symbolizes the love between ASTRO and their fans.
A reference to Peter Pan’s Neverland, it means that (G)I-DLE and their fans will remain together, unchanging and forever.
The fandom name is a combination of “fromis” and “clover”. It represents a promise made between fromis_9 and their fans to spend happy moments together.
Given by leader LeeTeuk himself, E.L.F. stands for Everlasting Friends, meaning that SUPER JUNIOR and their fans will be friends forever. Pretty straightforward.
LOONA thinks of their fans as creating an orbit where the artist can shine and grow.
By taking out the ‘r’ from ‘Stray’, the word becomes Stay. Then the ‘r’ becomes the reason why STAYs remain with Stray Kids.
Broken into three parts, ‘You’(U) comes from English, ‘ae’ is Sino-Korean for “love”, and ‘na’ is the Korean word for “me”.
